Holy Family Cathedral Parish, Kuwait City

Announcements for the week beginning: Friday, 26 September

1.  29th September, Monday, will be the Feast of Sts. Michael, Gabriel and Raphael, the Archangels.        

2.  The Carmelite, St. Therese of the Child Jesus, will be remembered on 1st October. 4th October will be the Day of St. Francis of Assisi.

3.  October 2, 2014 will be the Feast of the Guardian Angels.

4.  The Holy Hour for Peace will begin at 4:45 pm. on October 3rd, the First Friday, in this Holy Family Cathedral.

5.  The Mass for the children will start on Friday 3rd October at 9:15 am in the Holy Family Hall. The Rosary will begin at 9:00 am. Parents, please bring your children on time.

6.  Fr. Patrick Perera will give a talk to the Teenagers and the Parents on 4th and 5th October. Please hurry up to register at the Parish Office. More details are on the Notice Board.

7.  Bible Professor Fr. Dr. Joseph will be conducting a Bible Seminar in English on Saturday, 4th October, in the Virgin Mary Hall from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. From 6th to 10th October it will be in the Holy Family Hall at the same timings. Please do attend.

8.  There will be a Meeting for all the Filipino Parents of all the Filipino Catechism Children on 3rd October, Friday from 1:15 to 2:30 pm. in the Holy Family Hall. This Attendance is Compulsory.

9.  October is the Month of the Most Holy Rosary. Here the Rosary is recited  in the Morning and Evening. Kindly try to say the Rosary each day.

St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus Parish, Salmiya

Announcements for the week beginning: Friday, 26 September

1. Today, we celebrate the Liturgy of the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

2. The Novena to St. Thérèse is recited daily, from 24th September to 2nd October, at 6:00 pm, followed by the Novena Mass to St. Thérèse.

3. On Friday, 3rd October, we celebrate the Feast of our Parish. All Masses on this day will be Festive Masses.  Let us pray to St. Thérèse, the Patroness of our Parish, to intercede for each family and help us to grow in holiness.

4. On Friday, 3rd October, Catechism classes will end at 11:00 am for the students of Class 1, and at 11:15 am for the other classes.

5. The new hymnal of the Vicariate, ‘JOYOUS CELEBRATION’ priced at KD 6 is now available at the Resource Centre.  Bishop Camillo Ballin has invited all the faithful to accept and use this hymnal as a means for a better participation in the Liturgy.

6. The lives of Saints inspire us to imitate them and grow in holiness, so the Church’s faithful are urged to buy a set of books on the lives of Saints, available at the Resource Centre.

7. Parents of the Catechism children are requested to park their vehicles on the huge grounds on Saba Street, and walk to the school, while dropping and picking up their children to avoid traffic congestion near the school.

8. Every Saturday, in our Church, there is an Oratory Program for children, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.

9. The St. Cecilia Choir which sings for the Sunday 5:00 pm Mass as well as the Mama Margaret Choir which sings for the Sunday 6:45 am Mass are in need of more choir members.  Those blessed with a melodious voice are invited to join these choirs.

1. The (REVISED) Parish Office timings are as follows:
8:30 am to 11:30 am and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm or by appointment.
The office is closed on Fridays.

2. We request parents with infants to occupy only Room # 1 during the Mass.

3. Parishioners who bring their vehicles to Church are kindly requested to abide by Kuwait's traffic rules whilst parking so as to not inconvenience others.  "Do unto others, as you would have them do to you" should henceforth be our motto whilst parking.

St. Daniel Comboni Parish, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

Announcements for the week beginning: Friday, 12 September

1. After the English Mass at 10.45 a.m. we shall have the inaugural prayer session for Faith Formation during which our Teachers and Ushers will take the oath. Only today till 1.00 p.m. and tomorrow from 8.00 a.m. to 10 a.m. registration will be done for Faith Formation Classes. If you miss, you can admit your children only after two weeks. Your children will be miss two classes.

Timings for Catechism will be as follows:

For all Latin Students classes will be on Fridays from 8.00 a.m. to 9.15 a.m. in St. Daniel Comboni hall, Holy Mass will be offered after the class.
For Syro Malabar Students in 5th and 6th Std, classes will be on Thursdays from 7.00 to 8.15 p.m. in St. Daniel Comboni hall
For 1st Standard on Fridays from 10.45 to 12.00 noon in Our Lady of Arabia hall
For 2nd and 3rd Std on Fridays from 10.45 to 12.00 noon in St. Daniel Comboni Hall
For 4th and 8th Std on Fridays from 12.15 noon to 1.30 p.m. in St. Daniel Comboni hall
For 7th, 9th, 10th and 11th Std on Fridays from 2.45 to 4.00 p.m. in St. Daniel Comboni hall
For 4th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th Std students Mass will be celebrated at 1.30 p.m.

2. Every Tuesday and Thursday we shall have Mass in Syro Malabar Rite in St. Daniel Comboni Hall at 6.15 p.m.

3.The Konkani Community of our Parish will celebrate Monthi Fest: the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary combined with the Harvest festival today at 5.30 p.m. with a procession. The solemn Mass at 6.00 p.m. will be celebrated by the visiting Capuchin Priest Fr. Paul Melwin D’ Souza at the Integrated Indian School.

4. The Cathedral Night Vigil will begin at 10.00 p.m. on Thursday the 18th of September. The Vigil Confessions will start at 9:30 p.m.

5. Family ministry of our Parish is organizing a talk in English for all the married couples on 30th September, Tuesday after the English Mass on the topic: "Responsible Parenting". Talk will be given by Fr. Lionel.

6. All the boys who received first Holy Communion this year and registered their names for Altar Servers will have the training tomorrow 13th September and on next Saturday 20th September from 9.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. Only those who come for this training will be allowed to serve Mass.

7. The Konkani community will have the Faith Formation talks by the same visiting priest on 15th, 16th and 17th September 2014 from 6.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. in the St. Daniel Comboni hall. These days we will not have choir practice in this basement.

There will be no English Mass on 16th September, Tuesday. Syro Malabar Mass will be celebrated in the 1st Basement (Our Lady of Arabia Hall).

8. The 1st round of the Bible Quiz Competition organized by Marubhumiyile Sabdam is on 25th September in our parish. The questions for the competition will be from the Gospel of Mathew and Marubhumiyile Sabdam issues of January to August. For further details check the Notice board.

9. The Marriage Preparation Course in Malayalam will be conducted on 3rd and 10th of October (1 p.m. to 6 p.m.) as well as on 4th October (9 a.m. 5.30 p.m.). Kindly collect the registration form from the parish office and submit the same at the Cathedral Resource Centre. 28th September will be the last date to submit the filled in form.

10. A Malayalam Bible seminar (BODHANA- 2014) will be conducted in the Cathedral during the Eid holidays on 4th, 5th and 6th Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The resource person is Rev. Dr. Joseph Thondiparambil, Scripture professor in Aluva Seminary for past 25 years. Registration fee is KD 1. Please register before 21st September.

11. Fr. Mathew Elavumkal, the Director of Divine Retreat Centre, Muringoor will preach during Mariolsavam on 24th and 25th of October from 3.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Your generous contribution is most welcome.


1. Kindly avoid gathering in groups and chatting outside the premises.

2. Please do not light any kind of candles anywhere in the hall or classes.

3. Please do not make use of the building parking place to park your car. This place is allotted ONLY for the people who live in the building. If you come for Mass by car, kindly park your car on the other side of the road and walk to the hall. Thank you for your co-operation.
