Prot. N.: 108/2012
Date: 06 October 2012
Rev. Fr. Gaspar Fernandes
Holy Family Cathedral
Kuwait
Reverend and dear Fr. Gaspar,
Peace of the Lord!
Finally, after so many requests from your part, the time has come for you to leave the responsibility as Parish Priest of the Cathedral in Kuwait. You know that it has never been my intention to take this decision because I appreciated very much your involvement in that difficult task.
I want here to thank you sincerely and deeply for your ministry. You have given to the Cathedral a new spirit and a new face. People knew that you were always available for them at any moment, and this is a very important point for a Parish Priest.
I thank you also for your practical and precious help for the material needs of the Cathedral and of the priests' community there. Your great generosity is known and very much appreciated by all. So, it is with some reluctance that I release you from the charge as Parish Priest of the Cathedral in Kuwait starting from 19 October 2012.
Now, you are going to Ahmadi as Assistant Parish Priest. The Bishop's Council has a great trust in you and that you shall help for a better communion among the priests in Ahmadi. You shall help for a more sharing of responsibilities in the parish and in the house. Your joyful character and your goodwill are two precious gifts which enhance a sincere brotherhood with all.
Thanks again for your service and your obedience. May God reward you abundantly as he does with those who seek only His love and mercy.
Saint Francis and all the Capuchin saints accompany you in your new ministry.
Yours most devotedly,
(Signed and Sealed)
+ Camillo Ballin, mccj
